How Varun turned Marathi mulga for Badlapur

The dashing Varun Dhavan played the role of a Marathi boy speaking impeccable Marathi in the film, Badlapur. The film released last week to rave review. Varun’s performance in the movie is highly appreciated. The film is directed by Sriram Raghavan and has Huma Qureshi , Varun Dhavan, Nawazuddin Siddique, Yami Gautam and Radhika Apte in the lead roles.

   Varun who had to deliver dialogues in Marathi in the movie, learnt Marathi and also practiced it with friends. Varun grew up in Mumbai and said that he was completely familiar with the local lingo of Marathi. But for the film, Badlapur, the Student of the Year star was required to speak in a particular dialect of the language. Apart from this, the actor also played an aggressive role in the film that had revenge as its main theme. This is contrast to his earlier roles that were all sweet boy types. This new avatar of Varun is being loved by his fans.

Talking about his role in Badlapur, Varun said that he took the task of delivering Marathi dialogues very seriously. He even practiced speaking the language with his fitness instructor who is a Marathi speaker. Recently, Super Star Salman Khan praised Varun on twitter saying that he loved Varun’s powerful performance in Badlapur.
