Ever since we saw the Marathi movie – Sairat hitting the theatres, the film kept on doing great business at the box office. From the first day with 4.5 crores of collection to the collection tolling to 15 crores in the first weekend, the film kept on gaining the moolah and the current picture is too rosy to believe. As per reports, the current box office collection of Sairat tolled to around 55 crores, which is actually a very good figure for any Marathi movie that lacks higher star value and high profile sets and investment in it.
Unlike the previous film of Nagraj Manjule called Fandry, the director has continued his style and mantra of making a realistic kind of film roping in novices in his second film. The perfection added to the film went to such an extent that it even compelled Mr. Perfectionist of B Town – Aamir Khan to come out to Twitter and express applauds for the film at the microblogging site. That’s not all, others too joined from the B Town and M Town to applaud the movie. The film also was screened at Berlin in its prestigious film festival thus making Sairat to be among the top choice by the global group of film fraternity.
