Rege is an upcoming Marathi film that is directed by Abhijit Panse and produced by ‘The Art Beat Productions’. Ratnakant Jagtap is its executive producer and it is written and screen played by Abhijit Panse. Music is given by Avdhoot Gupte, with makeup team comprising of Santosh Gayke and Vikram Gaikwad. Art direction is by Santosh Phutane. The star cast is Mahesh Manjrekar, Pravin Tarde, Santosh Juvekar and Pushkar Shrotri.
Through this movie, the director wants to show the world that greed for position, fame and power can ruin anybody. The movie is all about as to how vulnerable today’s youngsters have become and easily get attracted to glamour that is shown by underworld only to get trapped in it eventually. The high profile cops have been trying to reach to the top simply by having the antisocial elements to be eliminated and also working against their system and own colleagues.
Ravi Jadhav Films is said to present this movie in association with The Artbeat Innovations, ADR Entertainments and Abhijit Panse Reels. This movie is slated to be released on the 15th August, 2014, but would be facing competition by none other than the epic Lokmanya: Ek Yug Purush. Initially, there were signs of the latter postponing the dates for ‘Rege’, but the director planned to stick to the original date. It is to be seen how this crime thriller is to fare in the box office and the kind of response it gets from the audience.
It is also said that it was happening in Marathi film industry for the very first time that one director is about to release the movie of another director, with Rege. Ravi has been trying to use his own style for promoting the movie. The first poster that got released has been able to capture the attention of the Marathi cine goers and also considered to be a glimpse as to what is in store for them.
