More than one month after the demise of veteran actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar, his film is all set to be screened in the international film festival to held in Kerala next week. 2002 released Marathi film, Vaastupurush will be screened in the film festival that will be attended by eminent personalities from the film fraternity.
Vaastupurush is directed by Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukhthankar. The film was one of the most acclaimed films in Marathi cinema of the decade. It received the award for best Marathi film in the year 2002. Sadashiv Amrapurkar gave an intense performance in the film that had other major roles played by Uttara Baokar, Sidharth Daftardar, Mahesh Eklunchwar, Atul Kulkarni and Ravindra Mankani.
The International Film Festival of Kerala is scheduled to commence from 12 December 2014. It will be host to film personalities across the world. Many path breaking films have been meticulously selected to be screened in the festival. Vaastupurush ensures its entry for its women director Sumitra Bhave. It will be screened in a special section which consists of works by women directors. It will be screened alongside films from women directors around the world.
Amrapurkar who passed away on 3 November 2014 due to heart attack left an indelible mark on the audience through the film. He plays a pivotal role in Vaastupurush.
