Avinash Arun’s Killa was in news long before it’s release. With the great amount of appreciation it received at Berlin International Festival, it became a well known film back home in Maharashtra. When Court won the Best National Film Award, Killa bagged the award for Best Marathi film in 62nd National Film Awards. Killa released all over Maharashtra on 26 June to a very positive reception by critics and audience. Unlike the response to a masala film, it was a superior class audience that turned up for Killa.
Killa received a good opening in big cities like Mumabi , Pune and Nagpur. Killa opening day collection was 60 Lakhs With a positive word of mouth, it is expected to do great business on the weekends. With Amruta Subhash playing the lead , it is the children in the film who put up touching performances in Killa. Archit Deodhar , who was earlier seen in Siddhant, once again plays the lead. Parth Bhalerao , who played Akrot in Amitabh Bachchan starrer Bhoothnath Returns, is also a delectable treat for the Marathi audience. other child actors Gaurish Gawade and Atharava Upasni are also a breath of fresh life in the film. Above all, National Award winning actress Amruta Subhash portrays a grave character of a single parent who is transferred to a new place.
Killa is expected to keep the collection box chunking with money with weekend. It is expected to collect approximately 1 Crore in the weekends. It’s total collection may be around 90 Lakhs.
