It was a busy Friday last week, when three movies hit the M Town of diverse theme and subjects. These films gave enough options before the Marathi audience to choose the one, which suits the taste and flair of the people. The films were entertaining, full of Masala and similar to conventional films in terms of content and subject to the earlier films released in the past one year. Now, let’s check how these films have performed in the past one week.
Starting with the film Friends starring the talented M Town hunk called Swapnil Joshi, Sachit Patil and the novice Gauri Nalawade, the film managed to do better over the box office. Of all the three movies released last week, this film had enough buzz in the media. Thanks to the high star value of the stars and positive vibes created by the promos of the film and the positive reviews, the film managed to do better over the box office. The first week box office report of the Marathi film called Friends, the collection tolled to around 3.5 crores, which is a decent amount considering a Marathi film is concerned.
Next is the melodrama film based at the age of eighties at the Konkan village called Chiranjeev. The film had Bharat Jadhav, Kishore Kadam, Bhargavi Chirmule and Alka Kubal in the lead roles. However, it managed to find less amount of buzz in the media, thanks to the dull promotion of the film and low star value as compared to Friends, the film’s business was low. As per reports, the first week box office collection of Chiranjeev tolled to around 2.5 crores, which is less for this melodrama film.
Next is the Bharat Shah Presents film called Chahto Mi Tula which is a love story not much far from the typical movies that keep on hitting the M Town with similar topics. The film had the novices called Prashad Oke and Shruti Marathe who failed together to give enough star value to the film. Hence it is inevitable to find enough response for the film. Thus as per reports, the first week box office report for Chato Mi Tula tolled to around 1.5crores.
