In this movie the hero Santosh Juvekar is an innocent youngster having a passion to sing, tends to win in a reality show. He goes on to get fame and experiences behavioral changes and becomes quite aggressive. Also, he becomes an alcohol addict and loses all that he has earned. This story is somewhat familiar to ‘Rockstar’, where Ranbir Kapoor plays the lead role. However, this is not. This Marathi story actually tracks life of the young warkari chap, whose life completely changes as he goes on to become a famous singer. One can see how fame does bring in altercation to life. However, it is a fact that the movie has been very much inspired by ‘Rockstar’, while similarities are being drawn. But the director denies it, since he feels that there are several aspects to it.

Even appearance of Santosh Juvekar, the lead actor is similar to Ranbir Kapoor in the movie that makes others to compare the film with ‘Rockstar’. Also, the poster of the Ek Tara bears several amounts of resemblance. But according to Raiees, the getup of Santosh in the movie is a cue from Ranbir, however the story is completely an original one. The audience has to see this movie in person to know the story and the difference between ‘Rockstar’. Time will only tell.
