We have seen Amruta Khanvilkar, the pretty actress in films like Phoonk and Contract II in Hindi. Her item number Vajle Ki Bara was a hugely popular song among the Marathi audience. Today it is performed in all the Marathi stage shows and Amruta is all thanks for the song for making her an extremely sought after dancer in award functions. The actress who has acted in films like Time Bomb 9/11, Saade Maade Teen, Hatrick, Himmatwala ( hindi ) is currently doing a Marathi film titled Baji . In the film , she is cast alongside Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade.

Amruta made her entry into films through her inclination towards dance. She was noticed in a dance reality show on Marathi television. She ended up at the third position in the competition and came in the notice of filmmakers. Starting her career from Marathi films and TV serials, she later bagged Bollywood projects under the banner of Ram Gopal Verma. She was a part of his films like Phoonk and ContractII. Though her roles coud not establish her as a lead actress, the actress played her part well and impressed the audience.
Amruta had hosted the dance reality show on Marathi TV titled Dance Maharashtra Dance. She became more popular for her dance when she performed an item number in the film Natarang. The song ” Vajle Ki Bara” made her an overnight popular star and the song became a Super hit all over the state. Allegedly, she was not the first choice for the song. She was roped in for the song just a day before the shooting after the actress who was the first choice for it bagged out at the last moment.
The actress was a part of the much critically acclaimed and award winning film Shaala. She has also played a minor character in the recently released film Satrangee Re.
The 29 year old Amruta has also given a special appearance in an item song in the Sajid khan produced , Ajay Devgan starrer, Himmatwala. Ram Gopal Verma’s Phoonk and Phoonk 2 provided her potential roles but unfortunately for the actress the film bombed at the box office and the actress’s contribution went unnoticed. The recently released film Ayana Ka Bayna also has the actress playing a vital role in it. The beautiful actress has been a part of the 2007 released Hindi film Mumbai Salsa.
