Abhijeet Sawant, born on October 8, 1980, in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, is a versatile Indian singer, television actor, and anchor. He first gained fame by winning the inaugural season of Indian Idol in 2004. Abhijeet’s music career took off with his debut solo album, Aapka Abhijeet Sawant, released in 2005. He also sang in the movie Aashiq Banaya Aapne, with his song “Mar Jaawan Mit Jaawan” becoming popular. His second album, Junoon, came out in 2007 and its title track charted well in India.
In 2008, Abhijeet was a finalist on Clinic All Clear Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar, a competition show featuring winners and runners-up from various singing reality shows, where he finished as the first runner-up. He released his third studio album, Farida, in 2013.
Abhijeet ventured into acting with his debut movie Lottery in 2009 and made a brief appearance in the film Tees Maar Khan. He also had special roles in the TV shows “Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai” and “C.I.D”. In 2024, Abhijeet joined “Bigg Boss Marathi 5” as a contestant, adding to his diverse career in entertainment.
